WhatsApp calls from the browser

Last updated on Oct 05, 2026

With a WhatsApp Cloud inbox you can receive and place voice calls directly from HellouOne, nothing to install: audio runs through your browser.

Requirements

  • WhatsApp inbox connected through WhatsApp Cloud (Meta's official API).
  • Calling enabled for your account and for the inbox (see Configure calling on your inbox).
  • Microphone access allowed in the browser (Chrome or Edge recommended).

Receive a call

  1. When a customer calls, a floating window shows their name/number.
  2. Click Answer. The call opens inside the contact's conversation.
  3. When you're done, click Hang up. The call is logged in the conversation with its duration.

Call a customer

  1. Open the contact's conversation and click the phone icon.
  2. If the customer hasn't authorized calls yet, WhatsApp sends them a permission request; once they accept, you can call.

Calls can only be started with customers who already have an active WhatsApp conversation with you.
